Beach to Beach Walk
If you’re an avid walker, a family with active children or perhaps just a lover of nature - this is the walk for you! We like to think of the Beach to Beach walk as bucket list worthy. It’s an all time fav of locals and visitors, and for very good reason.
Kicking off from McLeans Beach you’ll walk past towering red gums, sandy beaches, historical buildings and places of interest like the Deniliquin & District Historical Society and the iconic Ute on a Pole. As you make your way from McLean’s to the Island Sanctuary on the other side of the CBD and then onto Willoughby’s Beach, you’ll also pass by the The Crossing Cafe and the nearby Napier Street retail and cafe precinct.
Tip: make time to enjoy a coffee, brunch or lunch in town as you meander along the rivers edge.
Note that the Island Sanctuary is pretty special and you'll likely get caught up exploring the paths and river frontage in this beautiful sanctuary area. Be sure to keep an eye out for the birds, kangaroos and other wildlife too. This place is home to many!
The Beach to Beach Walk is a great trail to explore with the family too. It can be done in sections or as a longer return loop, and the path is easy to navigate with prams or even bikes.
