River Floating

A great way to experience the river - as generations of local’s kids know - is to hop on a float at Willoughby's Beach and then drift along with the gentle tide for 2km until you reach McLean's Beach.

Although you can launch your float from many places along the river, a favourite launching spot is Willoughby’s Beach and an hour or so later you will arrive at the popular McLean Beach.

If you just want to chill out or do something completely different, alone or with the whole family, floating gently down the river from beach to beach is the thing to do! You'll be sure to make your friends back home jealous that's for sure. There’s almost no better way to explore our river & it’s wildlife, all whilst having a laugh with your mates.

If you didn't bring a floating device just call into the store at the Visitor Information Centre and pick one up. Truth be told, there’s plenty of places to grab a float in town. From unicorns to donuts, from bright and colourful to more sedate float crafts. Go crazy!

Annual Deniliquin Big Float - Australia Day Fundraiser

The Big Deni Float is a leisurely river float, followed by the Raft Race. The float concludes on the sandy beach at McLean Beach where there will be Yabbie Races, Thong Throwing competition, Sand Castle building, Pie Eating Competition (adults & children) Raffles, Bubble Ball area and much more. You can find out more by visiting their Facebook page here

This event is a fundraiser for the Deniliquin Rescue Squad (Volunteers Rescue Association) with funds raised from the day to go towards purchasing new equipment for the squad to assist them in all aspects of rescues.
